Storage For WinterHello Friends, I know it's only September but I've already been getting some questions about winterizing your griddle. I figured I would quickly go over it in this email so you can come back to it when the weather turns. First I want you to know that you don't have to put your griddle away for winter, you can continue to cook on it. I cook on mine all winter long and continue to store it like normal. I put down a thin layer of oil, close the hard cover, and then put on the soft cover. Just as a reminder, if you are cooking in the cold I would reccomend preheating on low so the griddle doesn't have major swings in temperature. If you are going to put it away for winter then don't forget that the whole griddle top can come off of the burners. I can't speak for all griddles, but this is definetly the case for Blackstone and Camp Chef. It is heavy, but grab a friend and place the griddle top in the garage for a few months if you want it away from the elements. If you don't want to remove it completley you could always get one of the orange silicone mats and put that on it, then cover it up with your hard and soft cover for winter. If you don't have an silicone mat then you could do the same thing with parchment paper, or I've heard of people using saran wrap and a piece of cardboard. So pick whatever way is easiest for you, but just remember the goal is to not let any moisture or condinsation build up on it. Also, if you come back to it in the spring and there's a litte bit of rust that's not a problem at all. You can always get a pumice stone and reseason it, or strip the whole thing down with a wire wheel and start the seasoning proccess from scratch. As a reminder I just released my Griddle 101 online video course which has everything you need to know to master the griddle in one month. In the course I go over.
And there is a comment section on the side of each video for you to ask me questions. If you are interested in purchsing the course click the link below. As always thanks for reading and keep on griddling |
Breakfast Potatos Hello Friends, I tested out 6 different breakfast potatos on the griddle ranging from fresh to canned potatos. To be honest, I haven't really met a breakfast potato that I don't like, especially once I cover them with hot sauce. But I do feel like some of the potatoes are better than others. I go over my favorite and least favorite below, but first a quick note from today's sponsor. Bucket Golf! Bucket golf is a portable golf course that allows you to play golf anytime the...
