How To Use Omelet Rings on the Griddle

Omelet Rings

Hello Friends,

You've probably seen the omelet and egg rings in some of mine or other people's videos and wondered, "Do those really work?" Well I've used the metal Cuisinart ones for a few years, and I'm here to tell you they do work. I've done omelets, egg sandwiches and perfect pancakes in them.

Just like most things in life they are not perfect, but the ones I got were only $15 on Amazon, and I think for that price they work just fine. The main issues that can happen are sticking and eggs running out.

The best way to prevent sticking is to put them on the griddle and have them preheat with the griddle. Also, I like to spray or rub oil on the inside of the ring. Normally I do not like to use spray oil on the griddle because blackstone does not reccomend it. However, in this case I use it because it's mainly going on the rings, and it's easier than rubbing the rings down.

Oftentimes the eggs can leak under the ring because they are so light. This rarely happened when I worked at Bob Evans, but that's because we had very heavy stainless steel rings. Those heavy omelet ring were also about $100 each, so you get what you pay for.

If you pour the eggs in slowly, I've found that it helps to keep them inside the ring. But if they do go outside the rings don't panic. Just let the eggs on the outside cook up a bit, pull them away from the ring, then scoop them up with your spatula and put them back inside the ring.

I go over all this in the video below, and if you would like to get some rings yourself I have a link here.
