Griddle 101: Sausage McMuffins

McMuffins!

Hello friends,

This is just a friendly reminder that the old sausage Egg McMuffin might still be the best breakfast sandwich you can make on a griddle. In my latest video, I go over a few things that make a big difference when you’re cooking it at home:

  • Fresh vs. frozen sausage patties – The frozen ones fit perfectly, but the fresh ones just taste better. I show how to smash two fresh patties together to get the perfect size.
  • Making the patties fit – I test both sizes side-by-side so you can decide what works best.
  • Using an egg ring – I share a few tricks to keep the eggs from sticking (and show what happens when they do).
  • My favorite topping – Horseradish mayo. Sounds unusual, but it’s incredible on a breakfast sandwich.
  • The muffins – I used Aunt Millie’s Old-Fashioned White English Muffins. They toast up beautifully and give you that perfect McMuffin texture.

It’s a simple, classic griddle breakfast that never misses. You can check out the full video below if you want to see how it all comes together.

And if you’re on Facebook, I’ve been posting a bunch of new griddle recipes and short tip videos over there too — you can follow me for more.
