Griddle 101: Medium Difficulty Hibachi

Steak, Chicken & Shrimp!

Hello friends,

A month or so ago I shared my easy hibachi recipe with chicken, steak, and premade rice. This time I decided to step it up. We’ve got steak, chicken, and shrimp—and I made fresh rice the night before.

Now, I’ll be honest: premade rice works fine and I don’t mind using it in a pinch. But cooled, fresh rice made the night before really does turn out better in my opinion.

The key here is cooking order. I started with the chicken and steak, let them rest while I worked on the veggies and rice, then added the cut-up meat back in at the end along with the shrimp. Just be sure to save the shrimp for last—it cooks in no time.

If you’re ready to try a slightly more involved hibachi recipe, give this one a shot. I’m also working on an “advanced” fried rice with homemade garlic butter and maybe even the classic onion volcano. Got any suggestions for additions? A lot of people mention MSG, but I’ve never used it myself.

Here's the recipe on my site: https://www.johnnybrunet.com/chicken-steak-and-shrimp-hibachi-fried-rice-on-a-blackstone-griddle/
